Director Business RiskWhat does a successful Business Risks Director do at Fiserv?
The Business Risks Director acts as a subject matter expert on the Interchange Management team, focusing primarily on interchange qualification topics related to major credit card networks, including MasterCard, Visa, Amex, Discover, and Star. This role involves collaboration with internal teams including Interchange Management and Payment Acceptance, as well as managing staff responsible for interchange performance monitoring. Strong management skills are essential for issue detection, evaluation, quantification, and resolution.
What you will do:
- Managing all supervisory tasks relating to multiple direct reports, including work delegation, prioritization, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Partnering with internal representatives and management, both within and outside the department, to resolve platform, merchant, and vendor issues, including direct merchant contact as needed.
- Leveraging strong management skills to develop and adapt short- and long-range goals in a dynamic environment.
- Providing recommendations on outcomes of identified interchange qualification issues.
- Assisting with testing functions related to bi-annual Card Brand Interchange qualification/fee changes.
- Participate in project management and delivery functions.
- Supervising multiple staff positions, both directly and indirectly.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in operations management, ideally within the banking or payments sectors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & mainframe access tools.
- Proven communication skills with leaders both internally and externally.
- Strong working knowledge of complex billing structures and functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What is nice to have:
- In-depth knowledge of Fiserv interchange qualification systems and platforms.
- Knowledge of the payments industry.
Occasional travel may be required (up to 10% of the time).
Salary Range:
$90,300.00-$121,200.00These pay ranges apply to employees in Maryland. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ. Certain Positions are Commissions eligible.
