Senior Accountant, Technical AccountingWhat does a successful Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting, do?
As a Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting at Fiserv, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting for our $20 billion revenue, publicly traded, Fortune 500 company. You will be responsible for providing oversight and direction over internal financial policies, U.S. GAAP technical accounting, and reporting matters. Your expertise will contribute to the standardization of policies and procedures, researching technical accounting issues, drafting related position papers, and supporting new accounting pronouncement implementations. You will also serve as a liaison with external auditors and contribute to various value-added projects.
What you will do:
- Evaluate the impact of emerging accounting standards on the company and assist in implementing necessary changes.
- Perform technical accounting research and analysis related to acquisitions, dispositions, revenue recognition, leasing activities, debt offerings, derivatives/hedging, stock-based compensation, segment reporting, and cash flows.
- Assist with the corporate accounting review of significant renewals/new customer contracts for appropriate revenue recognition considerations.
- Support the continuous development, maintenance, communication, and governance/adherence to accounting policies and practices globally.
- Aid in the preparation of public reporting and related 10-Q and 10-K SEC filings.
- Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and procedures, providing recommendations for business improvements.
- Participate in special projects and perform ad hoc analysis as assigned.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or equivalent military experience.
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting (audit background) or accounting with a large public corporation.
- Experience in technical accounting research and analysis.
- Experience with SEC reporting.
- Experience with revenue recognition concepts.
What would be great to have:
- CPA license (preferred).
- 4+ years of experience with SAP and BPC.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with managing auditor relationships.
- Experience in policy standardization and implementation.

- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
