Boarding specialistWhat does a successful Onboarding specialist do?
A successful Onboarding specialist at Fiserv delivers smooth, accurate, and timely onboarding experiences that build long-term client trust. You serve as a central point of coordination across alliances, partners, and ISOs, ensuring that every merchant is set up right the first time. You bring a client-first mindset to every interaction, balancing speed with precision in a fast-paced operations environment. You help turn complex merchant services processes into simple, confident experiences for our clients.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with alliances, partners, and ISOs to execute end-to-end onboarding activities across multiple merchant services platforms
- Process and complete maintenance requests to maintain accurate, up-to-date client and account records
- Prioritize and resolve urgent client and partner requests while maintaining a strong client-centric focus
- Investigate and respond to client queries by analyzing account data and coordinating with internal teams for resolution
- Engage directly with clients to capture requirements, clarify requests, and communicate outcomes clearly and professionally
- Document process changes, exceptions, and special boarding requirements in designated systems and repositories
- Recommend and support improvements to onboarding workflows, templates, and checklists to drive best practices and operational excellence
- Adhere to and monitor service level agreements (SLAs), escalating risks to timelines or quality when necessary
What you will need to have:
- Experience working in an operations, client support, or onboarding role within financial services, merchant services, or a similar regulated industry
- Proven ability to manage high-volume queues, prioritize competing requests, and meet defined SLAs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in data entry, documentation, and record maintenance
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Proficiency using CRM, ticketing, or workflow tools and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Outlook, collaboration tools)
What would be great to have:
- Background supporting merchant acquiring, payment processing, or ISO/partner channels
- Experience onboarding clients across multiple platforms or systems with complex configuration requirements
- Familiarity with KYC, compliance, and risk-related checks involved in client or merchant setup
- Exposure to continuous improvement, process mapping, or SOP documentation in an operational environment
- Ability to interpret and work within contractual terms, pricing schedules, and partner-specific onboarding rules
