Description

The Apple Retail team is seeking a Strategy & Business Planning Lead to support and develop Greater China commercial strategy, driving transformative growth across one of Retail’s most critical markets.

This role is expected to develop strategic country plan, external market and consumer intelligence, internal cross function integration in terms of initiative prioritization and business process.

As the strategy & business planning lead for Retail’s Commercial Team, you will be part of an extraordinary team who are focussed on delivering commercial growth for Apple Retail.

The role requires managing Apple retail country plan, strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across teams, driving critical initiatives and supporting decision-making processes. The role works in a cross-functional capacity with both WW and GC cross functional teams, providing strategic / operational project management and organisational oversight. The ideal candidate is highly organised, a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and possesses excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Retail Strategy: Play a role in on-going retail-wide analyses, including researching and analysing online industries, technology segments, business models and consumer trends. Work cross-functionally to incubate innovative ideas and develop strategies that influence the performance. Craft compelling stories, supported by data, that bring strategies to life. Help transform the ideas into reality and monitor their progress.
  • Business Planning: Act as PMO to set up prioritization framework and process for cross functional team. Prioritize key initiatives at Geo level and align with key stakeholders in country and WW. Improve the Management system, including cadence of leadership meetings and updates with Commercial strategic focus areas. Ensure measurement against timelines and KPIs. Connect the dots across teams and work streams that should intersect and collaborate. Uses performance indicators to measure and improve team performance and make recommendations to support and drive efficiency across the business.
  • Strategic Projects: Project management of special strategic initiatives for the team from inception to completion and provide business insights and recommendations.
  • Site leadership support: Support recurring strategic and operational meetings cross functional team to ensure shared context, awareness and alignment. Assemble and make the agenda available before meetings begin. Collect and prepare content. Assemble notes and action items and ensure actions are tracked and completed. Source and curate content and speakers for All Team Meetings and other relevant forums.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or Business Management or prior experience required. MBA an advantage.
  • 7+ years of work experience in strategy, finance or a business development role in a Retail / Online - centric environment.
  • Excellent project management and presentation skills, with ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strategic Visioning: Skilled in developing and articulating a clear vision and strategy for the future.
  • Ability to understand and articulate big picture to executive teams, while maintaining exceptional attention to execution details. Requires outstanding analytical skills and experience in collecting, analysing and tracking key business data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in digital transformation strategy development and project management is preferred.
  • Related experience with a strategy consulting firm is an advantage.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, to support strategic planning.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven track record in managing and engaging various stakeholders to build consensus and drive strategic projects.
  • Technology Savvy: Awareness of emerging technologies and their potential impact on business strategies and operations.
  • Leadership and Team Building: Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
