The IS&T (Information Systems and Technology) organization at Apple builds and maintains mission-critical applications and services that support Apple customers, employees, partners, and products worldwide. IS&T’s SAP team is seeking an experienced SAP Application Engineer for ABAP to join its SAP development team that focuses on designing, building, and maintaining software solutions that enhance and optimize key business processes.

Your responsibilities as SAP ABAP Developer will include all aspects of software development from architecture and system design to implementation and maintenance. This role requires a highly skilled and adaptable engineer who thrives in an ambiguous environment and takes ownership of project delivery from inception to deployment. The ideal candidate will collaborate across teams, mentor engineers and drive innovation while implementing features aligned with our product roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document and maintain scalable, reliable and secure SAP ABAP applications in S/4HANA.
• Build robust solutions while considering performance, security and maintainability.
• Learn and gain knowledge on new modules such as Retail, GTS and SAP RAR.
• Work with functional leads, business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams in a cross-functional
• environment to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Provide level-of-effort estimations based on thorough research, code study and work prioritization to inform
• stakeholders of progress and delivery timelines.
• Perform rigorous code reviews to ensure high-quality code.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other junior engineers.
• Identify root causes of complex technical issues and deliver robust fixes.
• Share knowledge through presentations, documentation and best practice discussions.
• Identify and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and maintainability .
• Adhere to audit, compliance, and documentation standards.
• Drive innovation for new and existing solutions through BTP , RAP , ABAP on Cloud, GenAI and other technologies.
• Work with vendors/SAP on project deliverables and Co-Innovation ideas.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-8 years of ABAP application development experience in MM/SD/FI/CRM modules (ECC/S4HANA).
• Hands on experience with RICEFW objects including ABAP Reports, Dynpro, BDC, OData and SOAP/Web Services.
• Working knowledge in designing and developing interfaces using ALE/IDoc/BDoc, Flat Files, RFC and BAPI.
• Proficient with ABAP OOPS, User Exit, BAdI, BTE and Enhancement Framework.
• Demonstrated experience in Forms (Adobe Forms/Smart Forms/SAP Scripts).
• Development exposure to ABAP on HANA objects (CDS, AMDP , and so on)
• Familiarity with the ABAP RESTful Programming Model (RAP) for transactional apps.
• At least one full scale implementation cycle and has good knowledge of SDLC methodologies.
• Knowledge of SP AU/SPDD, OSS Notes, Upgrade and Support Pack activities.
• Solid knowledge of application performance improvement techniques and caching solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment, displaying results-driven attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively , both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical stakeholders across cross-
• functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform and Services.
• Knowledge of SAP HANA Native Application Development.
• Understanding of technologies/frameworks such as HTML5/JS/SAP Fiori/UI5/BSP , and CAP .
• Familiarity with ABAP Clean Core principles.
• Working experience with Agile development methodologies and Design Thinking approach.
• SAP certification such as ABAP on HANA.
