Summary

The Supplier Carbon Solutions (SCS) team is integral to Apple’s goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2030. Sixty five percent of our comprehensive carbon footprintcomes from the emissions associated with manufacturing our products. SCS works with our suppliers to zero out their carbon emissions for Apple manufacturing.

Description

To date, SCS has established five unique programs dedicated to empowering our suppliers towards this goal - Greenhouse Gas Reporting, Clean Energy Program, Electricity Efficiency Program, Non-Electricity Abatement & Carbon Removals. Each program is at a different maturity level, relies on different types of data, and has a different engagement strategy with our suppliers. However, in order to effectively drive the efforts from the suppliers, we need the support of a motivated summer Intern.

Responsibilities

• Drive supplier progress in reducing their direct emissions. This involves building platforms/mechanisms to scale implementation of existing solutions as well as piloting new, innovative solutions.
• Bring clarity to environments of policy uncertainty; partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop strategies to overcome market barriers to cost-effective direct emission reductions solutions.
• Build the capacity of suppliers to understand GHG emission profiles and options for reducing carbon footprints.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Student of Master degree in Energy/Environment/Economics/Policy areas.
• Available to join internship for 3 months full-time.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written (In both Chinese and English).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi-tasking and project management.
• Passion for renewable procurement, battery, carbon accounting, or climate policy.
• Analytical with a keen ability to distill down complicated data and processes.
• Can relay detailed processes into clear messaging for internal partners.
