Description
We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated senior facilities professional to join our team and oversee the facilities maintenance of Apple’s retail stores in the AMR East region.
The Facilities Manager will have proven experience in facilities management with a demonstrated focus on operating buildings as outstanding retail spaces, delivering high-quality results at the best value. This role will be responsible for the facilities services for Apple retail stores in the AMR East region.

Description
We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated senior facilities professional to join our team and oversee the facilities maintenance of Apple’s retail stores in the AMR East region.
The Facilities Manager will have proven experience in facilities management with a demonstrated focus on operating buildings as outstanding retail spaces, delivering high-quality results at the best value. This role will be responsible for the facilities services for Apple retail stores in the AMR East region.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engage and support retail stores in the region, ensuring their needs are met and conducting comprehensive service reviews at least twice a month.
- Perform routine scheduled, structured site visits to each assigned store location to identify and document any issues, maintaining close communication and partnership with store, market, and global retail support leadership.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of contracted maintenance services to store requirements.
- Lead facilities support employees and contractors to deliver operations services in a timely and cost-effective manner, coordinating responses to emergency situations that may impact operations.
- Drive functional and operational excellence of all projects and programs by providing consistent and prescriptive feedback to all cross-functional teams, including real estate, design, innovation, standards, merchandising, direct sourcing, security, information systems and technology (IS&T), and others.
- Significant expertise and experience in the maintenance and operation of buildings, building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing), machinery, landscaping, and quality improvement projects.
- Responsible for the creation, management, and forecasting of operating expenses (Opex) and capital expenditures (Capex) budgets through the Service Channel and other tools, as well as forecasts for the respective geographical regions.
- Oversight of commissioning agents and contractors to support the acceptance and turnover of various projects and programs.
- Direct management of key vendors through the WO management system, weekly check-ins, and constant evaluation through store tours and fiscal performance.
- Engagement of general contractors, consultants, vendors, and maintenance service providers, including competitive bidding and assistance in negotiation, such as SOWs, CPSAs, and project-specific contracts.
- Review of all proposals, change order requests, and other communications from service providers, contractors, suppliers, and other relevant parties.
- Consistent collaboration with Development and Research and Development Design (RDDM) design teams to provide a continuous feedback loop for improving building functionality and material selection.
- At least 10 years of construction/facilities management experience with a demonstrated focus on delivering and/or maintaining outstanding retail stores or workplaces.
- Bilingual with fluency in both English and French. English proficiency is required as this role supports the U.S. market and involves presentations to international partners.
- Able to travel up to 60%.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to create comprehensive Preventative Maintenance plans and tools for close monitoring.
- Expertise in the planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and execution of all technical services necessary for the maintenance and enhancement of buildings. This encompasses mechanical, electrical, plumbing, control systems, fire alarm, janitorial, landscaping, flooring, lighting, furniture, warehousing, pest control, interior plant care, and call center services.
- Proficiency in balancing the trade-offs between operational risk and investment, consistently striving for the highest quality and design at the most cost-effective value.
- Demonstrated communication and supervisory abilities, including experience collaborating with various organizational levels and managing customer service issues involving employees in a professional and positive manner.
- Capability to diagnose, address, and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, including experience prioritizing and assigning repairs.
- Proven experience in cultivating and maintaining relationships with facility operation teams, utility companies, government agencies, architectural and design firms, and general contracting firms.
- Centralized location is essential to a major retail hub to conduct minimal twice-monthly surveys and provide maintenance support at each assigned store.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Construction Management.
