Apple’s global government affairs team shapes technology policy and secures markets access for Apple’s products and services. We are seeking a Manager, Government Affairs in Seoul who will report to the Head of Government Affairs, Korea and APAC. This role will help drive the development and execution of a proactive engagement strategy and advocate for Apple’s policy positions to government and other stakeholders.

The Government Affairs Manager will help develop and execute the company’s proactive government engagement and advocacy strategy in Korea. They will be a member of the APAC Government Affairs team and report to the Head of Government Affairs, Korea. They will work closely with in-country and regional/global teams to protect and promote the company’s interests, and advance our policy positions with key government stakeholders in Korea.

This role will help drive the development and execution of a proactive engagement strategy and advocate for Apple’s policy positions to government and other stakeholders.
Description
The Government Affairs Manager will help develop and execute the company’s proactive government engagement and advocacy strategy in Korea. They will be a member of the APAC Government Affairs team and report to the Head of Government Affairs, Korea. They will work closely with in-country and regional/global teams to protect and promote the company’s interests, and advance our policy positions with key government stakeholders in Korea.
Responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments in the country that may impact Apple’s business;
- Identify and engage government agencies closely related to Apple’s businesses in your country.
- Identify and engage National Assembly members and their staff, particularly members of the ICT and National Policy Committees.
- Regularly engage and coordinate with key stakeholders to secure government approvals, policy support and regulatory permits.
- Assist in interpreting and assessing impact of the laws and regulations, and provide GA advice for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor changes to public policies, organizational structures, and decision making processes.
- Support and work with the Apple teams for communications on all other issues.
- Connect with global, regional and local industry and trade associations.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, with extensive experience in a government affairs function for a multinational corporation, industry association, or government agency that engages regularly with the private sector.
- Deep understanding of government affairs in Korea, including government relations, policy advocacy and crisis/issues management.
- Experience working with government agencies, National Assembly, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Korean.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in economics, political science, public policy, law, or international relations.
- Candidate must be flexible, resourceful, self-motivated, and be able to consistently exercise sound judgment, have a strong sense of responsibility, and work with minimal direct supervision
- Experience in the technology sector will be a plus, or familiarity with policies that may impact the technology sector or Apple.
- Be a collaborative individual able to advise and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong ability to distill complex ideas or issues into effective, clear, concise, and actionable campaigns and content.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and integrity.
- Proactive and creative problem-solver.
- Be willing and able to work in high-stress, high-pressure situations.
- Be a strong teammate — able to jump in on projects as needed.
- Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for Apple’s business and goals.
- Experience with the National Assembly will be preferred.
