We are searching for a Senior Tax Accountant based in Mexico City with a distinctive analytic mind to join the Latin America Tax team. You will play an integral part to lead the local direct and indirect tax compliance for Mexico and some other countries such as Colombia, drive global consistency in systems & processes as well as identifying standardization and simplification opportunities. You will drive process and efficiency improvements through innovation. You will also be working with the team to establish and implement consistent and effective processes across the LATAM entities, mostly Mexico.

Description
In addition to the standard local tax compliance and reporting for Latin America, this position will provide strategic solutions and process improvements on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will develop subject matter expertise in local tax compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate filing/payment of federal, state, and local taxes, including Income Tax (ISR) and VAT (IVA), across Mexico and Colombia back up support activities.
- Develop and innovate processes to standardize income tax and VAT calculations for Mexico and Colombia regions.
- Manage annual Dictamen Fiscal and other required SAT submissions.
- Coordinate annual tax provisions and deferred tax calculations; ensure proper internal controls over income tax accounting.
- Lead reconciliations and full analysis of tax accounts and proper GL postings for tax payments.
- Engage with our main stakeholders on Tax project implementations.
- Support during local tax audit processes.
- Create standard and scalable reports for tax audit purposes.
- Prepare documentation for audit support, including generating and reconciling reports, analyzing the data for exposure and overpayments.
- Reconcile large volume of information for accuracy on local tax reporting.
- Liaise with external advisors & auditors, including information requests preparation and review, deadline tracking and timely responses.
- Drive the resolution of any key control; create the relationship with key agents to ensure tax compliance.
- Prepare and/or review quarterly VAT summaries, including Tax account analysis and reconciliations.
- 5+ years of experience in tax compliance in Mexico and Latin America.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Experience with Tableau and SAP.
- Proactive problem solving.
- Solid analytical skills with a process focus.
- The ability to recognize issues within processes and organizations.
- Mature, responsible, customer-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible in working with tight deadlines.
