Live Tinted is seeking a multidisciplinary Art Director who is equally strong in concept and execution. This person will lead the visual evolution of our brand across all channels—social, retail, packaging, web, paid, and IRL experiences—and bring big ideas to life through compelling creative that connects emotionally and performs commercially. You’ll be hands-on with design while also overseeing a talented network of freelance designers, photographers, and editors. You’ll partner cross-functionally to create full-funnel campaigns and own the creative direction for key moments—from product launches to brand storytelling, to in-store displays and retail merchandising. This role will report to our SVP of Marketing. You’ll also work closely with our Head of Affiliate Marketing, alongside cross-functional partners in Growth, Product, and Retail to ensure creative aligns with business priorities. This role is based in Los Angeles (Hybrid).

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Leadership & Execution

  • Own and evolve the Live Tinted visual world across digital, social, retail, packaging, video, and experiential touchpoints.
  • Lead ideation and execution for seasonal campaigns, new product launches, influencer collaborations, and cultural moments.
  • Develop moodboards, storyboards, design templates, and motion-first concepts tailored to Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
  • Create & oversee assets, including graphics, video editing, layout design, & UGC -Style and short-form video content.

Social & Digital-First Storytelling

  • Concept, design, and art direct high-impact creative for TikTok, Instagram, Meta, YouTube Shorts, and paid media.
  • Edit short-form videos, apply text overlays, build hooks, and guide pacing for performance across platforms.
  • Working with Marketing and Performance teams to develop creative briefs and content templates that can scale UGC and influencer content.
  • Collaborate with retail and product teams on merchandising displays, in-store testers, and IRL moments.
  • Partner with the growth team to A/B test ad creative and optimize based on performance metrics.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Oversee and manage a network of freelance designers, editors, and creative partners.
  • Art direct shoots (both remote and in-person), including pre-production, set design, shot lists, and post-processing.
  • Own and evolve brand guidelines including typographic systems, visual standards, and channel-specific adaptations
  • Maintain and manage asset libraries and cross-channel templates to ensure consistency across internal and external teams
  • Drive visual adaptations for product campaigns, collaborations, and retail executions, in alignment with business priorities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Growth, Product Development, and Retail teams to align visuals with messaging and business goals.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorms and influence overall content strategy with original, timely, and trend-aware ideas.

Brand Ownership

  • Uphold consistency and innovation in visual language, while evolving the brand aesthetic over time.
  • Stay ahead of design trends, platform shifts, and cultural moments to keep Live Tinted timely and magnetic.
  • Be open and curious about emerging tools and technologies, including AI, and proactively test new capabilities that can enhance creative development, streamline workflow, and support operationally


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 8-10 years experience years designing brand experiences across digital, retail, and packaging
  • Proven experience leading freelancers, creatives, and/or agencies
  • Experience in beauty, fashion, or high-growth DTC brands strongly preferred
  • Strong POV on what works across each content channel and not afraid to bring bold ideas forward and execute with a resourceful approach
  • Passionate about beauty, inclusive storytelling, and translating brand purpose into powerful visuals and content
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and energized by fast-moving, iterative creative environments
  • Excited to work directly with the brand founder and leadership team to take Live Tinted to the next level in terms of brand and design excellence and execution.
