Maven Clinic is looking for a director-level People Partner for our Clinical, Finance, and Legal organizations. This person will be responsible for the success of employee engagement and team performance through people programs and manager support. As Maven is continuing to grow and build, an objective, direct, and empathetic people leader is critical to foster an environment where everyone can be supported and do their best work. The ideal candidate for this role is a people leader who is adept at building strong relationships at all levels, a proven metrics-driven operator, and someone with a bias for action.

As the Director, People Partners, you will:

  • Support the Clinical, Finance, and Legal organizations by developing and executing people strategies that align with your client groups’ business strategies
  • Deliver people programs, including (but not limited to) performance management, compensation review, manager training, employee workshops and engagement surveys
  • Serve as the right hand to our Chief Medical Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Financial Officer by providing regular strategic counsel and guiding them as they build their teams, develop programs and policies
  • In partnership with our Senior Medical Director, act as a strategic partner in scaling our W2 provider organization, including total reward and performance management, with a focus on overall team engagement
  • Coach and develop leaders at all levels in the organization and demonstrate your objectiveness and empathy as you work with employees
  • Act on insights you gain from people data to drive engagement and a high-performance culture within your client groups and across Maven
  • Create and implement progressive talent strategies to address retention and development needs
  • Build structures and processes that help us work more efficiently and sustainably with an eye toward operating at scale
  • Continuously iterate on people programs based on feedback from your client groups and the rest of the company, and identify areas where we can build and deliver new company-wide programs, and follow through on your ideas
  • Become a trusted resource and great example by establishing credibility through your actions and interactions with Mavens
  • Mentor up-and-coming People leaders on our team by sharing your experience and expertise, and lead by example with managing competing priorities, navigating complex people situations, and developing trusted relationships with senior leaders
  • Partner with Recruiting to help drive a great experience for candidates and a streamlined onboarding experience
  • Work closely with other cross-functional teams, including (but not limited to) People Operations, People Experience and Internal Communications, Finance, and Legal to ensure clear roles and responsibilities and efficient processes

We’re looking for you to bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner, People leadership, or equivalent business operations roles
  • People Partner background working specifically with clinical and provider client groups
  • Experience and sound understanding of healthcare organizations
  • Proven success partnering with executive-level leaders to help them achieve their goals
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills and ability to establish rapport, quickly build credibility, and engage in executive-level partnerships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms that exhibit your objectiveness, empathy, patience, and diplomacy
  • An entrepreneurial drive, ability to create order from chaos, and willingness to roll up your sleeves to directly solve challenging problems

Helpful experiences and skills (if you don’t have them, it’s not a dealbreaker!):

  • Deep experience in employment law and compliance

At Maven we believe that a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences enrich our teams and allow us to achieve above and beyond our goals. If you do not have experience in all of the areas detailed above, we hope that you will share your unique background with us in your application and how it can be additive to our teams.
