This person will be responsible for the success of employee engagement and team performance through people programs and manager support. As Maven is continuing to grow, an objective, direct, and empathetic people partner is critical to create an environment where everyone can be supported and do their best work. The ideal candidate for this role is adept at building strong relationships at all levels, a proven metrics-driven operator, and someone with a bias for action.

As the Senior Director, HRBP you will:

  • Support the Product & Operations organizations by developing and executing people strategies that align with your client groups’ business strategies
  • Coach, develop, and mentor a team of senior HRBPs
  • Deliver people programs, including (but not limited to) performance management, compensation review, manager training, employee workshops and engagement surveys
  • Serve as the right hand to VP and C-suite Executives by providing regular strategic counsel and guiding them as they lead their teams through change
  • Coach and develop leaders at all levels in the organization and demonstrate your objectiveness and empathy as you work with employees
  • Act on insights you gain from people data to drive engagement and a high-performance culture within your client groups and across Maven
  • Create and implement progressive talent strategies to address retention and development needs
  • Build structures and processes that help us work more efficiently and sustainably with an eye toward operating at scale
  • Continuously iterate on people programs based on feedback from your client groups and the rest of the company, and identify areas where we can build and deliver new company-wide programs, and follow through on your ideas
  • Become a trusted resource and great example by establishing credibility through your actions and interactions with Mavens
  • Partner with Recruiting to help drive a great experience for candidates and a streamlined onboarding experience
  • Work closely with other cross-functional teams, including (but not limited to) People Operations, People Experience, Finance, and Legal to ensure clear roles and responsibilities and efficient processes

We’re looking for you to bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner, People leadership, or equivalent business operations roles
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Proven success partnering with executive-level leaders to help them achieve their goals
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills and ability to establish rapport, quickly build credibility, and engage in executive-level partnerships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms that exhibit your objectiveness, empathy, patience, and diplomacy
  • An entrepreneurial drive, ability to create order from chaos, and willingness to roll up your sleeves to directly solve challenging problems
  • Prior healthcare experience is a plus, but not required

For candidates in NYC, CO, or CA, the base salary range for this role is $225,000 - $255,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.

This role is only open to candidates in the NYC-metropolitan area and will require you to be in-office for 3 days each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). While flexibility will always be core to Maven’s policies, we also believe in the power of in-person connection. Our hybrid work policy was created with both principles in mind.

This role requires active work authorization in the US.

At Maven we believe that a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences enrich our teams and allow us to achieve above and beyond our goals. If you do not have experience in all of the areas detailed above, we hope that you will share your unique background with us in your application and how it can be additive to our teams.
