About the Job:

Rent the Runway is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Inventory Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role you will play a critical role in driving inventory planning and optimization strategies to support our fast-growing fashion rental business. You will be responsible for analyzing inventory data, and implementing inventory management initiatives to maximize efficiency and profitability through allocation, pricing and liquidation (among other things).

What You’ll Do:

1. Inventory Planning and Analysis:

    • Develop and execute inventory planning strategies to optimize inventory health and performance. Provide liquidation and pricing recommendations to influence assortment health.
    • Conduct regular analysis of inventory data, including sales trends, product performance, and customer behavior, to identify areas for improvement and actionable insights.
    • Collaborate with finance, data scientists, operations and fashion to forecast demand, set inventory targets, and monitor inventory performance against goals.
    • Monitor inventory turnover and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, proposing strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize write-offs.

2. Inventory Allocation and Assortment Planning:

    • Optimize inventory allocation across multiple distribution centers and retail locations to maximize product availability and minimize transfer costs.

    • Collaborate with merchandising teams to develop effective assortment plans and ensure optimal product mix based on customer preferences and market trends.

3. Reporting and Communication:

    • Prepare regular reports and present key inventory metrics, including stock levels, sell-through rates, and aging inventory, to senior management.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate inventory-related updates, strategies, and performance insights effectively.
    • Participate in inventory-related meetings and provide recommendations based on data-driven analysis.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, demand forecasting, or related roles, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Looker, Excel and data analysis tools are essential. Knowledge of inventory planning methodologies, forecasting techniques, and supply chain best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $78,400 to $105,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. This position is also eligible for equity compensation.
