Overview:
Rent the Runway is seeking a Sr. Manager of Operations to oversee processing within the Secaucus distribution facility of Rent The Runway. The candidate will oversee the day-to-day activities of multiple departments to ensure adherence to safety, quality and productivity targets. The candidate should champion continuous improvement efforts that meet the company’s short and long-term growth objectives as it scales its customer base. The candidate should be able to manage and drive staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other change/ six sigma initiatives to improve FC variable cost. The right candidate for this role will do all the above while adhering to and embodying the RTR core values.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop team of up to 9 Operations Managers, 15 Process Assistants and 300+ associates.
- Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, Security, IT) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives
- Improve quality and eliminate errors as well as reduce cost per unit
- Manage and promote the maintenance of the working environment including driving health and safety standards across your operational area
- Continuously measure and evaluate the departmental goals and all work processes, daily labor/productions goals and drive results at a very granular level
- Ensure high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality
- Implement changes and/or develop new processes as required to provide ability to better ship multiple products to multiple geographies
- Achieve stock accuracy targets
- Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of leaders with consideration for diversity, equity and inclusion
- Design, develop, and implement training programs
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures
- Review output performance against scheduled performance. Provide reports to direct management on interpretation of results and approve changes in direction of plans.

Requirements:
- B.S. degree in business administration, manufacturing, supply chain or other relevant field of study
- 6 + years of related experience working in a retail management, warehouse, or quality assurance capacity
- 5 + years supervisory/management experience
- Basic knowledge of kaizen and lean manufacturing concepts
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures
- Must also be able to adapt quickly and make changes in a short-period of time at a fast-paced and growing start-up environment
- Google suite, and Microsoft Office proficiency (RTR utilizes Google suite primarily)
Preferred qualifications:
- Masters degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management or other relevant field of study
- Bilingual - Spanish preferred
- Considerable knowledge of the principles of supervision, training, performance evaluation as well as six sigma techniques
- Proficient in SQL and/or other data and statistical analysis tools
Work Environment:
- Work performed on site in a warehouse setting 5 days a week (with flexibility to work additional days or holidays as needed)
