Lead Backend Engineer

Opportunity:
Womp is looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us build the next generation of our 3D creation platform. You will work with a team of front-end engineers, graphics researchers, and senior leadership to design and build the critical back-end services that drive Womp. We are a small but steadily growing team, and this position will be essential in shaping the future of our product, team, and company culture. Check out our product hunt page. Responsibilities:
Build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to power our platform
Work with the CTO and other senior engineers to make high-level architecture and design decisions
Contribute to our continuous efforts to improve our development infrastructure and processes
Help communicate and implement best practices across the engineering team
Perform and participate in code reviews
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
Collaborate and participate in team meetings and daily standups
Ability to multitask and adapt within an agile startup environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in a product-centered team
Expert experience in Linux especially Ubuntu.
Deep architectural knowledge about distributed system
Proficiency with Node.js
Deep understanding of API development (REST/RPC)
Strong familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS
Ability to write high quality, maintainable, modular and well tested code
Experience with profiling, troubleshooting and optimizing performance of complex system
Familiarity with Agile and Lean development practices
Good written and spoken English communication skills are essential for this role
Bonus Skills:
Experience in building large-scale real-time applications
Experience with C++ and CUDA
Experience with streaming technique including WebRTC
Front-end experience with React is a plus
Understanding of 3D modeling and design is a plus
